Knowing that my Greek yogurt bark is a fan fave during the summer, I figured you guys would love these Greek yogurt popsicles!
They’re creamy, delicious and the perfect recipe to involve your kids in. Plus, they’re so easy to make and totally customizable. The hardest part is waiting for them to harden up in the freezer. Trust me when I say that you’ll want to keep a batch or two or these yogurt pops stocked in the freezer all summer long!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
You only need 3 simple ingredients and 10 minutes of prep time!
These popsicles are smooth, creamy and so refreshing.
It’s the perfect summertime treat that both adults and kids will love!
It’s totally customizable – feel free to use your favorite yogurt and whatever fruit you have on hand.
plain Greek yogurt – I prefer to use full-fat Greek yogurt for these popsicles because it’s thicker and a bit richer, but you can use regular plain yogurt if that’s all you have and low fat or nonfat yogurt if you’re wanting to cut back on the fat content.
honey – the honey in this recipe sweetens up the Greek yogurt just enough. If you want to keep the recipe super low in sugar you can use plain yogurt without sweetening it, but I think it tastes really good with a little honey. Maple syrup or agave will work as good alternatives.
fresh fruit – I did a mix of fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries and blackberries), but feel free to use your favorite fresh fruit! Frozen fruit should also work just fine for these pops, it might just take a little longer to blend up.
How to Make
These Greek yogurt popsicles are so easy to make. Here’s all you need to do:
In a high-powered blender, add Greek yogurt, honey and berries until combined. Blend until the berries are totally pureed or keep them a bit chunky if you want texture in the popsicles. Pour yogurt mixture evenly into 8 ice pop molds, add your popsicle sticks and freeze until solid (about 5-6 hours).
When ready to eat, dip the bottoms of the molds in hot water for a few seconds so the popsicles slide out easily. Enjoy!
Substitutions & Notes
Swap out the yogurt: Feel free to use your favorite type of yogurt. Low fat or nonfat Greek yogurt or any flavored yogurt (like honey, vanilla or blueberry) will all work! If you’re using flavored yogurt I’d omit the sweetener or use less. Note: Depending on the type of yogurt you use the consistency might be different. Low fat or nonfat might result in icier popsicles versus creamy.
Make them vegan: Use your favorite dairy-free yogurt and maple syrup to make these popsicles vegan!
Swap out the fruit: I chose a mixture of fresh berries for this recipe, but any fresh (or frozen) fruit would work. I bet cherries, peaches or bananas would be amazing, but the options are endless!
What Popsicle Molds Are Best?
There are a ton of great popsicle molds out there on the market. They all have various features and come in different shapes and sizes. I personally prefer popsicle molds made from silicone rather than plastic or stainless steel. Silicone is BPA-free, phthalate-free, dishwasher safe and the molds are easier to release.
How to Store
Once frozen, remove them from the mold and transfer to a freezer-safe bag like these Stasher bags. You can also wrap them in parchment or wax paper. Homemade popsicles should last for about 2-4 weeks in the freezer.
Are Greek yogurt popsicles healthy?
Yes! These popsicles are naturally sweetened and are loaded with protein and probiotics thanks to Greek yogurt. They’re definitely a healthier dessert compared to many other frozen treats.
Are these suitable for toddlers to eat?
Totally! Kiddos will love eating these popsicles. You can even omit the sweetener if you’re limiting sugar intake.
How can I easily get the popsicles out of the molds?
Dip the bottoms of the molds in hot water for a few seconds and the popsicles should slide out easily.
Can I still make these without a blender?
Definitely! I prefer to use my blender so the mixture is smooth and creamy, but you could totally mix everything by hand in a bowl. You’ll just have chunks of fruit in the pops, but they’ll still taste the same!
