We have found that the typical squirrel at the park has only one major function: collection and ingestion of food. The squirrels constantly stalk us whether we are on foot or on our bicycles. Sometimes we have peanuts with us and, after watching the squirrels entertain us, we toss a few peanut shells to them. This squirrel came out to meet us on a day we came to the park empty-handed before retreating back up into a tree to pout.
