This week’s photo challenge theme for the Daily Post is ‘Unusual.’ The grave of Nancy Kerlin Barnett was the first thought that popped into my mind. The two lanes of a narrow country road near Franklin, Indiana, straddle her grave-site. You can read the full story here but for the condensed version: the county wanted to build a new county road through an existing cemetery. The county contacted all the families involved and all but Nancy Kerlin Barnett’s family agreed to have the graves moved to a nearby location. The county decided to accept that outcome and moved all but that one grave then built the road around it. And there her remains rest to this day!
