We went to the Indianapolis Airport Cell-Phone Lot to watch the Super Moon moonrise. The target time was 6:06 PM – approximately thirty minutes after sunset. We arrived a few minutes early and I walked out into the field north of the lot. I do not remember ever seeing the moonrise before so this was quite an experience. The images are not that great – from my perspective the Moon rose to the right of the FedEx Building so there was nothing in these images to give much context. I tried to get an airplane into an image with the Moon but the pilots all apparently were angry with me and made an extra effort to be out of range.

The next Full Moon coming up in December might occur with snow on the ground – that would be nice!
