I resurrected this post from a couple of years ago of an interview experience I had back in my job-hunting days:
I had applied for a Quality Manager position at a bio-refining location nearby. Fourteen candidates made the initial cut with three, including me, advancing to the final round of interviews.
A week or so after the final interviews, the company rep called to tell me that they would not be filling the position at the present time. However, he did inform me that I had finished as the top candidate which, I suppose, I was to take as some sort of consolation prize.
Not only was that disappointing, but it made follow-up questions at subsequent interviews difficult.
Interviewer: So how has your job-hunting been going so far?
Me: Well, at my last opportunity I finished just behind ‘None of the Above.’
