Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgia – Route 66

We got caught up in the nostalgia of the old U.S. Route 66 – the highway that millions traveled from Illinois to California. The interstate highway system has mostly replaced Route 66 and only segments of the original highway exist. But those segments are a magnet for those taking a look back at highway travel prior to the mid-1960’s! We tasted a bit of that nostalgia in Missouri several weeks ago. It was a lot of fun!

  1. We all still get our kicks on route sixty-six! A friend and I will be in Arizona next month and are planning on hitting a few miles of Rte. 66 there. I love your choices of photos, gives a good flavor for what our parents and grandparents might have encountered while seeing the USA in their Chevrolet. Thanks for posting these.
