I think he’s trying to work out what you are going to do next. These grey squirrels were introduced to England about 150 years ago, and they are now an absolute pest, doing huge amounts of damage to trees. Any yet, in North America, they all fit into a carefully balanced ecological system.
They seem to hold their own. However, we are seeing a comeback by the chipmunks! There had been a few years where I had not seen any, but lately, they are popping up in a lot of places!
Would we think he’s cute if we really knew what he’s thinking? Nice shot.

What he is actually saying is,”I like you, you’re nuts!”

If that is what he said then he would be speaking truthfully! Thank you!

I’ve seen them crack nuts open with their teeth. I would not want to argue with an opponent with those skills! Thanks for that suggestion!

They pour on the charm if they think you are carrying treats for them!

Whenever I hear squirrels chirping at me I usually think they’re yelling at me to go away and leave them alone.

Usually that’s the case, but some of them at the park recognize a few regulars who bring nuts and seeds. We are not a member of that group! Thank you!

The pose reminds me of one of my kids asking for a favor that they think I am going to reject! Thank you!

Fun to watch animals and how we conjure images of human emotions from their faces, isn’t it! Thank you for commenting!
