Last post on the Vandalia Trail we saw a few examples of the wildlife that populated the area around the walking path.
Today, we look at the Crittenden Creek Bridge. When we reached the bridge (about one mile from Amo) we found that the bridge was actually the old railroad bridge. The ties were still there on the bridge deck; of course, the rails were gone. Planks filled the gaps between the railroad ties to make a smooth surface and an added fence stretched across on both sides. The bridge crosses the gap over Crittenden Creek, a small, meandering creek running north/south through the area.
