Occasional travel for the company is part of the job. The bad parts include being by myself, living in a hotel, eating whatever. It was last April on the weekend prior to a week-long business trip out-of-state. As I walked around the back of the house I noticed the cherry tree buds had some color. I put the lens extensions on the camera and spent the better part of an hour getting macro images of those buds. As I looked at them on the computer screen afterwards I saw those remarkable tiny patterns that God designed to mark the beginnings of Spring. Seeing those images refreshed my mind. And though it had no real impact on the trip, I did look forward to seeing the cherry tree and the other signs of Spring that awaited me a week later.
