Rolling Stone Covered Bridge

The Rolling Stone covered bridge spans the Big Walnut Creek northeast of Bainbridge, Indiana. The burr arch bridge opened in 1915, is 103 feet long and 13 feet high.

If it looks rickety to you, I can assure you it looked rickety to us as we drove across it! With a 1915 build date, it is one of the newer covered bridges we have seen. However, it stands at the bottom of a deep gorge and the Big Walnut Creek makes a big ‘S’ turn so the road twists and drops quickly as one enters the bridge (you can see the road entering the other side of the bridge in the gallery.)
