“Be true to yourself.
Make each day your masterpiece.
Help others.
Drink deeply from good books.
Make friendship a fine art.
Build a shelter against a rainy day.
Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.”
John Wooden

The above quote is Coach John Wooden’s famous Seven Point Creed given to him as a Grammar School graduate by his father. He used this creed as the basis for his athletic and personal life, and taught those principles to his players and coaches. Wooden grew up in Martinsville, Indiana, played basketball collegiatly at Purdue University and then became arguably the best collegiate basketball coach of all time. Yet through this he remained a humble and generous gentlemen throughout his almost 100 years on this Earth.
