Clear Water

The feature picture is the Wawatam Lighthouse overlooking Lake Huron and Mackinac Island from Saint Ignace, Michigan. This image captured just before sunset.

One of the more subtle pleasures of our trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula last Summer was to see clear water. The lake water was cold, in motion, reflective, rippling and always clear. The birds played there. We rode a ferry on it and drove several bridges over it. The clear water was not what we had come to see. But it still left its positive impression.

  1. Some stunning photographs, especially #3 with the curve of the bridge on the horizon. It is amazing to me to see a lake as big as that: There is nothing like that in the UK that you cannot see the far side of.
