Feeding Time for the Pelicans

I watched the pelicans as they dove into the water after the fish; at the same time, I captured too few images as I stood there. However, I did get a few shots of the frenzy that occurred in front of me; seeing the spectacle live fascinated me! In the first picture one can see a pelican who has just swallowed down some fish; you cannot get it any fresher than this!

  1. Wonderful photographs of a wonderful bird. There is a great poem by Edward Lear:

A wonderful bird is the Pelican.
His beak can hold more than his belly can.
He can hold in his beak
    Enough food for a week!
But I’ll be darned if I know how the hellican?
