  1. Hard to believe anyone would burn down such a beautiful, historic structure! One of the Bridges of Madison County, Iowa was also rebuilt after being destroyed by arson. Beautiful pictures! The Covered Bridge festival sounds like fun.

    1. A lot of these bridges here are over one hundred years old and still in service. One of them had a concrete bridge built a few years after the wooden bridge, and was supposed to replace the wooden bridge. The concrete bridge collapsed into the creek 88 years ago. The wooden bridge is still in use.

    1. No, it is in Parke County in western Indiana. There are 32 covered bridges in the county and there is a Covered Bridge Festival each October in several locations around the county. We have seen 13 of the bridges so far. We will visit the festival again this year for some good fair food and a drive around the countryside to see more bridges.

      Thank you for stopping by!
